Welcome to Fatman2Ironman!

Posted by on October 1, 2011

This site was originally dedicated to my journey from a ”Fatman” to who I am now – an Ironman.

BEFORE: ~322lbs and >56% body fat

AFTER: ~220lbs and 19% body fat

After completing this journey I realized it’s not about me but rather about all Fatmen (and Chubby girls) who want to take control of their bodies, their lives, and their destiny. I can help them get there. People helped me, I’ve been helping people, so why not pay it forward even more? THAT is my goal now.

To succeed there is nothing saying you need to ACTUALLY do an Ironman Triathlon. It’s beyond the comprehension of MOST people to swim 2.4 miles then ride 112 miles then run a freakin Marathon (26.2 miles)?! That’s OK.  You could be interested in running a mile. Swimming 50 yards in a pool without drowning. Learning to ride your bike to keep up with your kids. You’ll find the active lifestyle can be a reward in and of itself.

Please take a look around and give me feedback. I hope this site proves as a good resource for your mind, body and spirit on your journey. It takes all three to complete your lifestyle change. I hope to share my lessons learned along the way.  I will add more, but for now I have information regarding Diet, Social Support, background on me, and my Ironman race.

I’m not a doctor, I’m not a nutritionist, I’m not a physical therapist, I’m not a personal trainer, nor am I a coach.  Instead, I’m some fat guy who decided at 32 and 322lbs, that I needed to change my life and enough was enough.

And now I’m an Ironman. You can be too. Or anything else you want to be.

Please leave me comments below. What would YOU like to see from this site? What help do YOU need?

    Ron,

Congrats on achieving such dramatic betterment of yourself!

I’m not sure if you actively check this blog but you might be interested in the ToughMudder events where other likeminded people to yourself choose to push their body to the limits.

In any case, thanks for sharing your story!
