Yesterday wrapped up a new challenge for me. 24 hours of racing over 10 weeks.
- (3) HalfRev Aquabikes (1.2mile swim, 56mile bike) – Rev3 Dells, Rev3 Maine, Rev3 Branson
- (1) FullRev Aquabike (2.4mile swim, 112mile bike) – Rev3 Cedar Point
- (1) Warrior Dash (5k run/walk/obstacles/mud/beer), and
- (1) Sprint Tri Relay (500yd swim, 14 mile bike) – Jhawk Late bird
Why? Because life is not a spectator sport.
I’ve been moping around all year because I cannot run (long story for another day…). I’m working on it it’s just taking a LONG time. This test of endurance helped me remind myself that even though I’m not the athlete I WANT to be right now, I’m still an OK athlete. It’s all in the perspective.
I’ve managed to place myself on the leader board for the Rev3 Age Group Championships for Aquabike.
As someone who had NEVER earned a podium spot… to someone who’s managed THREE this year (HalfRev Aquabike, FullRev Aquabike, and 2 mile open water swim), I’m pretty pleased with how things are coming along. Is it where I wanted to be? Nope. But it’s a pretty good place none the less.
Everything you’ve done up to this point has prepared you for today. Are you ready?
