It’s really interesting how things play out sometime…
One of the Rev3 races I had NOT considered this year was Quassy Connecticut. It was 1 day after the last day of school for the kids, it was hilly as heck (my and gravity, we have issues), and I just raced Knoxville.
I have “Liked” The Rev3 Facebook page and I saw the design for the jersey.
I had just seen this when my wife emails and asks if I’ve seen it. We both felt it was AWESOME. I love it. Even better, it’s made by Peal Izumi (a sponsor) so I know it’s going to be made very well. I WANT THAT JERSEY!
But, as is the tradition in the Triathlon community, it’s bad form to wear a jersey/shirt/hat/etc for a race you have not done. It’s really bad form. So, if I wanted this jersey, I had to do the race, period.
After looking at schedules, amazingly… that weekend was free. The kids only have 1-2 hours of school Friday (and neither cares about going on the last day), the grades are all turned in, my mother-in-law isn’t working that day, there are enough frequent flier miles, oh my goodness… there’s no deal breakers!
So… my wife and I are coming to Quassy! I get to race (ok, really let’s just call this a ”training day with course support”), I get the jersey, I get to introduce my wife to the Rev3 family and we get a weekend away without kids!
See you at Quassy
